On April 25th and 26th, twenty-four students competed in the Iowa SkillsUSA State Conference.
Four Perry High School students are now State Officers for SkillsUSA, including Dalton Scott, Kaden Boyer, Sierra Newton, and in her second year as officer, Rylynn Gilmore. These students will attend the National Conference in Louisville Kentucky to receive leadership training for three days.
Third place finishers are as follows: Tucker Strough in Motorcycle Service Technology, Dalton Scott in Extemporaneous Speaking, Charity Lampman in Masonry, Kaden Boyer in Power Equipment Technology, Kaylynn Bousman in Photograpy, Rylynn Gilmore in Job Interview, and the Promotion Bulletin Board team of Lanie Fish, Orlando Gonzalez, and Michelle Tobar.
Second place finishers were: Trey McKenzie in Motorcycle Service Technology, Dalton Scott in Customer Service, Mason Barkley in Carpentry, Taylor Eppert in Photography, Taylor Majerus in Welding Sculpture, Kaden Boyer in Automobile MLR, the Community Service team of Noah Hegstrom, Kaden Boyer, Mason Barkley, and the Promotional Bulletin Board team of Taylor Patrick, Charity Lampman, and Kaleiah Hein.
The 1st Place Champions, who have the opportunity to compete at Nationals in Louisville, are: Kaleah Hein in Motorcycle Service Technology, Kaylynn Bousman in Extemporaneous Speaking, Lanie Fish in First-Aid CPR, Mason Barkley in Plumbing, Jered Narber in Carpentry, Alex Fickbohm in Power Equipment Technology, Rylynn Gilmore in Nurse Assisting, Charley Guardado in Automobile MLR, and the Promotional Bulletin Board team of Sierra Newton and Taylor Eppert.
Twelve Perry High School students will attend the National SkillsUSA Conference. Another successful year for SkillsUSA.
