The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization developed to recognize outstanding high school students. NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. National Honor Society strives to help students create enthusiasm for scholarship; to stimulate a desire to render service; to promote leadership; and to develop character in the students of secondary schools.
NHS chapters are found in all fifty states. Chapter membership recognizes students for their accomplishments and challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.
Qualifying Perry High School students may apply for induction into the PHS chapter during their junior or senior years. A formal induction ceremony recognizes new members and current members. The chapter engages in service learning projects during the course of the school year.
