The Perry High School Mock Trial team competed in the Iowa State Bar Association Central Regional Mock Trial Contest in Des Moines.
Mock Trial competitions are judged by actual judges, attorneys, and law students.
- Teams are awarded performance points based on their ability to accurately portray the roles of attorneys and witnesses while engaging in courtroom procedure and displaying critical thinking skills.
- Teams with the highest performance points total advance to Regional Final and the State Tournament.
The Perry High School team represented the Defense in competition with Des Moines Roosevelt. The team represented the Prosecution in the second round competing against Saydel. As the Defense, the team secured a guilty verdict based on the merits of the case against a state qualifying DM Roosevelt team.
