Congratulations to the Perry High School students competing at the Iowa SkillsUSA State Contest.
3rd Place: Kaden Boyer in Power Equipment Technology, TJ Sheehy in Masonry, and Beau Nelson in Carpentry.
2nd Place: Kaleigh Hein in Motorcycle Technology, Marqui Craddock and Kaleigh Hein in Promotional Bulletin Board, Miguel Constanza in Electrical Construction Wiring, and Mason Barkley in Plumbing.
State champions: Angel Escobar in Welding Sculpture, Alex Tapia in Plumbing, Taylor Eppert in Photography, Noah Hegstrom in Motorcycle Technology, Gabriel Ridnour and David Santacruz in Additive Manufacturing, Gabriel Ridnour, Kaden Boyer, and Kody Kilts in Promotional Bulletin Board, Rylynn Gilmore in Job Interview, TJ Sheehy in Job Skill Demonstration, the Entrepreneurship team of Brandon Ruiz, Erica Crawford, and Janet Ortiz, Skylar Cunningham and Sadee Whitfield in Digital Cinema Production, and finally the Community Service team of Erica Crawford, Janet Ortiz, and Brandon Ruiz.
There will be 20 total students traveling to Louisville, Kentucky for Nationals at the end of June.
Election of state officers also takes place at state. Three graduating seniors have held a state officer position for multiple years. President Sadee Whitfield for 3 years, Treasurer TJ Sheehy for 4 years, and Vice President Daniel Brinton for 4 years. As they leave their state officer positions, Michelle Tobar, and Rylynn Gilmore were elected as new Iowa state officers for this coming school year. They will be attending leadership training in Louisville as well.
